To me, planning a vacation is part of the fun. Finding the flights, picking out hotels… all of that builds the excitement. But for some, making travel arrangements and developing an itinerary presents a lot of stress.
Wouldn’t it be great if all travel-related websites had a ‘Check Now’ button that would teleport you to that place for, let’s say, 10 minutes? 🚀 Just like in Star Trek. You could check it out for yourself and then decide. ‘Beam me up, Scotty!’
We still don’t have that button (working on it!), but we promise that if you decide to book with us, you can always change your mind or your plans. Since we can’t teleport you to the Soča valley just yet, we’ve answered the most common questions about booking your Bovec rafting adventure below to make your planning as stress-free as possible.
🚨 Important Note: We highly recommend booking all activities—rafting, canyoning, kayaking, and zipline—with Bovec Rafting Team to secure your spot, especially in summer! While rafting and zipline are more walk-in friendly, don’t risk missing out. Read on for details and book your Soča adventure!
WHY BOOKING YOUR SOČA VALLEY ADVENTURE IN ADVANCE
IS A SMART MOVE
The Soča river is one of the most beautiful places on Earth (no bias here, we promise!), and naturally, everyone wants a piece of it. Especially in July and August, Bovec turns into a buzzing beehive of outdoor enthusiasts.
CAN I BOOK ON THE SPOT?
YES, IF LUCKY IS YOUR MIDDLE NAME
You are always welcome to walk into our office and book your tour in person. If you’re not on a tight schedule and are flexible with dates and departure hours, just drop by!
But please understand that during the high season (July & August), our boats fill up faster than a cold beer disappears on a hot day. To avoid waiting for the next available slot, we still recommend reserving in advance.
Why visit us?
Prime Location: We are located just a 5-minute walk from the Bovec center.
Stress-free Parking: No need to look for a spot! We have a large, private, fenced parking lot right in front of our office, and it’s completely free for our guests.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
Well, that depends on what time you plan to visit and how big is your group.
- April, May, and early June: We recommend booking 1 or 2 days in advance. That is, if you’re not a famous celebrity sharing this joyful moment with 150 assistants, a butler, and a private secretary. In that case, give us at least a week!
- The peak summer (July & August): We recommend booking at least 3 to 4 days in advance.
- The August 15th Week: This is the busiest time of the season (national holiday). The whole week is usually sold out weeks before, so make sure you book at least 1 or 2 weeks in advance.
- September: When school starts, the traffic on the Soča river slowly returns to normal. However, if the weather is nice, we still have quite a lot of guests, so booking 3 days in advance is still a smart move, especially for weekends.
Add an extra day if you come at the time of any National Holidays in Slovenia.
RAFTING SOČA
Reservations are strongly recommended for our group rafting tours on the Soča River, especially July–August when spots fill fast (max 60 per tour). Book online at least 24 hours ahead or call us for last-minute availability. Walk-ins may be accommodated, but don’t risk missing out!

CANYONING SUŠEC
Book in advance for canyoning adventures, as groups are limited to 16 for safety and fun. Peak season (July, August) often sells out, so reserve at least 24 hours ahead online. Call us to check walk-in options.
Why book? Ensures your gear and makes sure guides are ready for an epic descent!
PRIVATE & GROUP CANYONING FRATARICA
Reservations are mandatory for canyoning in the Fratarica canyon and must be made at least 3 days in advance. Because Fratarica is located in the stunning Triglav National Park, and we need to purchase individual permits for your group from the park authorities ahead of time.
Why book? Secures your access to this protected area and allows us to handle all the paperwork and permits for you in advance!
KAYAKING SOČA
Reservations are required for our private kayak lessons and guided tours, where only your group (max 5) paddles with the guide—no other guests! These exclusive Soča River tours sell out fast, so book online at least 24 hours before.

ZIPLINE PARK KANIN
Walk-ins are welcome for our thrilling zipline tours, but reservations are preferred to avoid wait times (groups up to 21). Book online at least 1 day before or call to jump the queue!
Why book? Skips lines and ensures your slot during busy days.
PRIVATE RAFTING SOČA & PRIVATE CANYONING SUŠEC TOURS
For an exclusive adventure, book our private rafting or canyoning tours at least 3 days in advance! Your group gets a dedicated guide, driver, and van, but these premium Soča River experiences sell out fast due to limited availability. Don’t wait—reserve online now!

WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE IN MY GROUP?
NO PROBLEM
If you’re unsure about the exact number of people in your group, we actually recommend that you book for the maximum number of people you might have.
Why? Because it’s much easier for us to shrink your group later than to pull an extra guide out of thin air at the last minute! As long as you let us know the final count a day or two before, we can easily adjust the details. This way, you secure enough spots and guides for everyone, and no one stays on the shore waving goodbye.
DO YOU OFFER RISK FREE RESERVATIONS?
YES
All our reservations are risk free. We never ask for prepayments except if you also ask us to provide transportation from different parts of Slovenia, Austria or Italy. We understand you are on vacation and might change your plans. Our goal is to make your booking experience as smooth as the emerald Soča river, so you can plan your trip without any financial stress or hidden strings attached.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE MY RESERVATION?
NO PROBLEM
You can change your reservation anytime. If your plans shift, just let us know, and we will do our best to find a new slot for you.
Please keep in mind that during the high season, some tours might be fully booked, but we will always let you know about all the other available departures so you don’t miss out. All we ask is that you let us know as soon as possible, so we can offer your original spots to other eager adventurers.
CAN I CANCEL MY RESERVATION?
YES
Yes! You can cancel your reservation at any time. No questions asked, and no cancellation fees.
