When planning your summer break in Bovec, you should add canyoning to your wish list. But, the eternal problem of outdoor sports activities is usually the fact that the youngest members of the family are too young.
So to save you some drama, here’s a list of activities with the minimum ages.

- PRIVATE CANYONING SUŠEC – 9 years

IS CANYONING TOO DEMANDING FOR MY CHILD?
PROBABLY NOT
Kids absolutely adore the thrill of jumping and sliding down waterfalls. They’re often less fearful than adults, simply diving in without overthinking. Despite its appearance, canyoning in Sušec isn’t overly intense; it’s genuinely enjoyable, almost like a natural water park with all its jumps and slides.
It’s worth noting that canyoning is more physically demanding than rafting since it involves a lot of walking, unlike rafting where you mostly sit and paddle. Additionally, canyoning tends to be colder because you’re in the water most of the time. For the best experience, plan your trip in July or August when the weather is warm and inviting.
However, it’s important to note that canyoning isn’t suitable for those afraid of heights. If your child falls into this category, it’s best not to push them—they’ll only dislike the experience, and you won’t enjoy it either.
WILL MY CHILD HAVE TO DO ALL THE JUMPS AND WATERFALLS?
NO
All the big waterfalls can be skipped, if prefered. But some af the small ones they have to do, because there’s no way around. Keep in mind that just because you’re hesitant doesn’t mean your child shares the same fear. Allow them to decide whether they want to tackle the biggest jumps and waterfalls. Children typically like these challenges, often repeating jumps multiple times if given the chance.
WHAT IF MY CHILD DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO SWIM?
CHOOSE ANOTHER ACTIVITY
Then we’re afraid, canyoning is not the right activity for your child to do. For safety reasons we don’t take guests who don’t know how to swim on canyoning tours.
You might be able to join us on a rafting tour if the water level is low. We take small children rafting on the Soča river when low water level. Most of them are non swimmers. They sit at the back of the boat next to the guide to make sure they’re safe.
CAN YOU ARRANGE A BABYSITTER?
YES
Are your children younger than 9 years old? Maybe they simply don’t want to go on canyoning? Yet you really want to go on canyoning? Say no more.
There is a possibility to arrange a babysitter but you have to tell us in advance. Last minute desperate phone call will let you in a disappointment as babysitters in Bovec are as rare as diamonds. When you book, drop us a line if you’re interested, and we’ll pull out all the stops to find you one. No promises, but we’ll give it our best shot!
