Buy Soča Rafting Permits – step by step instructions (with pictures)

Navigating online forms can sometimes feel like wrestling with a stubborn octopus—frustrating and a bit messy. But fear not! If you’re looking to buy Soča rafting permits for the stunning Soča River we’ve got you covered. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process step by step, with pictures, so you can breeze through it in just a few minutes. No need to worry about endless clicks or confusing instructions; we’ve simplified everything to make sure you can spend less time on ticket adventure and more time on the rafting adventure.

🚨 Important Note: This permit is required only for rafting on the Soča River in Bovec (Sector 1) and Kobarid (Sector 2).

• Who needs it: If you booked your tour with Bovec Rafting Team, you only need to buy permits for the Group Rafting Tours.
• When: March 15 to October 31, 10:00 to 18:00.
• Cost: €21 per person per day. 50% discount for children under 15 years.
• Pre and Post Season cost: €10.50 (15.03. – 01.06. and 15.09. – 15.10.)
• Where to buy: Online or at Tourist Info Centers in Bovec, Kobarid, or Tolmin. If the online system fails, visit a Tourist Info Center or call the Kobarid municipality at +386 70 982 301.
• Why: Required by Bovec and Kobarid municipality for river access.

2. OPEN GOSOCA.SI

Click the button below. Their website will open in a new window. If the online system crashes or doesn’t work, don’t stress! You can buy permits in person at Tourist Info Centers in Bovec, Kobarid, or Tolmin, or call the Kobarid municipality at +386 70 982 301 for help.

3. LANGUAGE

Choose your preferred language from a drop down menu on the right side of the screen.

4. LENGTH

Make sure your settings are on DAILY. If not, you can change it in the drop down menu.

5. E-MAIL

Write down your email.

6. SECTORS

Simply click the checkbox next to each sector so a checkmark appears. If the sectors are not selected yet, you can still change it now by ticking the boxes.

7. ACTIVATION PERIOD (High Season vs. Low Season)

Now, look at the Activation period checkboxes. The naming here is a bit confusing, but here is the simple rule to make sure you pay the correct amount:

☀️ If you are rafting in the Summer High Season (from 1 June to 15 September):
Click the checkbox for Whole season (full price).

Check your price: The total price at the bottom should show exactly 21,00 EUR per person.

🍂 If you are rafting in the Pre/Post Season (May, or after 15 September):
Click the checkbox for Pre/post season only (reduced price).

Check your price: The total price at the bottom should drop to exactly 10,50 EUR per person.

8. TYPE

Leave it on NAME.

9. NUMBER OF PERSONS

Choose the number of persons in your group. Please note that the maximum number of people you can add is 5. If there’s more than 5 people in your group, you will have to repeat the process.

10. PERSON/S (NAME AND SURNAME | CHILD)

Write down your names and family names in the blanks.

🛑 IMPORTANT: 50% Children’s Discount & ID Safety

If you have children under 15 years old, tick the checkbox next to their name to get a 50% discount. When you tick this box, the system (gosoca.si) will ask you to upload a photo of your child’s ID or passport.

Before you do this, please read our friendly advice:

• This is not our system: Bovec Rafting Team does NOT run gosoca.si website. We do not see, collect, or store your documents and photos. You upload your child’s documents here strictly at your own risk.
• Our safe advice (Highly Recommended): To protect your child’s privacy, do NOT upload their ID photos online. Simply buy the tickets in person at TIC Bovec (located in the town center, just 5 minutes from us). The local staff will only look at the passport to check the age and print your ticket. No scanning, no photos, 100% safe!

If you still want to buy online: If you prefer to finish everything online now, just click the checkbox next to your child’s name, upload a photo of their ID from your phone, and continue.

11. PAYMENT

Check if the price is correct – it’s 21 €/person. And then click PAY.

12. INVOICE FOR A COMPANY

If you wish your invoice to be issued on a company click INVOICE INFORMATION. Fill in the blanks.

13. PAYMENT

You will be redirected to a payment page where you will fill out your credit card info and finish your purchase.

14. DON’T ACTIVATE YOUR PERMITS

Voilà! Congratulations! You have your permits. When you are redirected back to the original page it will ask you to activate the permits. We recommend you to wait. You will get a link and QR code to your permits on your email. We will help you activate your permits here in our office before the tour. Once the permits are activated the date can no longer be changed.
